A process stuck in the past

While this global initiative was aiming for a better future for all of us, UNGC's tool to keep track of the annual progress made by participating companies, called Communication on Progress (CoP), was relying heavily on paperwork, making it laborious and time consuming for all involved to do their part.

Embracing a digital future

After acknowledging the problem, UNGC reached out to specialists in the digital realm to ask for help. We were called in as experts in our field with the objective to digitalize and optimize this important process.

The solution was challenging but obvious. We needed to migrate their entire Communication on Progress (CoP) paperwork system to a simple and efficient digital app that was both easy to fill out by companies and easy to revise by UNGC. It had to be data driven, allowing for easy data collection, analyzing, manipulation and reporting, but also had to be secure and easy to maintain.

Creative problem solving

UNGC trusted us with their digital transformation and offered us complete freedom on how to approach the challenge and achieve the goal. Collaboration and creative problem solving were paramount for the success of the project.

We worked side by side with both UNGC employees and other specialists to make a next generation digital app that would drastically reduce the workload and offer exceptional data control. We explored design philosophies and technological possibilities together and went over several different iterations to find the most suitable solution for each step of the process.

Simplicity and usability

The result is an easy to use application with a clean and intuitive visual interface that makes data collecting, sorting and presenting effortless, while also providing a low maintenance technology behind the scenes and the level of data security needed by an organization like the UN. While the app is mainly used on desktop machines, it's fully functional on a myriad of mobile devices as well.
